Job description
• Wärtsilä is a global company, which supports its customers throughout
the lifecycle of their installations, providing service, operation and
maintenance solutions for the land based power plants. We have more

• We provide Global Maintenance and Operation Support services for
ships engine room equipment delivered by Wärtsilä, as well as other
brands. Within our GCA organisation, you will be part of the global
Services organization, with local and regional management. You will
work with colleagues in the GCA central office as well as in the global
and local Services network, to bring the energy, excellence, and
excitement required to build and enhance our business relationships.
• As a Leading Engineer in our organisation, you will receive the required

technical knowledge and skills.
• In your role, you will lead a service team onboard to carry out planned
maintenance work scopes. You are working very closely with the local
GCA coordinator and Field Service organization. As the Leading
Engineer, you will also closely work with the Chief Engineers onboard
and agree on priorities and changes to work scopes, if required. The
service teams that you lead are tailored to each individual work scope,
and the work done onboard is usually for various equipments/machines.

Responsibilities
• Preparations for instructed work scopes.
• Instruct and lead teams.
• Close cooperation with Chief Engineers and local Coordinators.
• Ensure Wärtsilä quality standards are applied to all work.
• Ensure all required documentation is provided onboard.
• Complete and timely reporting and feedback as required.
• Responsible for the crew’s good perception of GCA services.

Requirements
• B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Project Engineering, Marine
• Engineering or equivalent experience;
• Possibly former seagoing engineer or experienced Service Engineer
• Experience with modern 2-stroke engines (Wärtsilä or other brands)
• Fluent English language skills.
• Experience in team leadership in difficult environments.
• Self motivated, initiative, openness, team player
• Readiness to have highly flexible working hours
